This is a great netbook! It is very portable and lightweight, and is elegant and stylish.

The main reason why I bought this netbook is that I want mp3 player with a larger hard drive for my jeep. I have a Zen 8GB, but it is not big enough. I looked at a new stereo for my car and got a single din, and I hate messing with the CD. This notebook is still cheaper than all the stereo fashion, do not play in a folder in usb playback, and not pop-out screen that blocks my AC vent. Meanwhile NB205 has worked well for this purpose, but I use it on the Internet. I was with the Nokia E71x when I need to find something quickly, from my computer (not while driving of course), but it works much better.

Another reason why I chose the other as a Dell Mini Netbook NB205, is that you can upgrade the memory. It comes with one DIMM slot. You can swap 1 GB, which is in it to hold up to 2GB, if you will. I w

At this point, you probably already studied other netbook, or maybe even some laptops. ASUS is what it is: a netbook that is very light, very portable and has good battery life.

So I will try to address the complaints that I have seen. I do not think that particular screen blank. I never needed to use it outside, but before I never had problems seeing the screen.

I saw at least one person who complains about "a flash of publicity" for life. They advertise 6 hours - the ultra battery saving mode. Come on people, every computer manufacturer advertises his life in ultra battery saving mode. In real life, probably the ASUS gets about four hours - which is still far better than most netbooks comparably price.

My biggest complaint is the touchpad. It seems to get a little 'sticky' at times. Sometimes it rolls on the screen when I'm just trying to move the cursor up or down.

All-in-all, is a good value for what you get: a netbook very light. If you want an optical drive, or more power, ready to spend much more. I was very happy with my purchase so far.

History: This is a great Netbook. In general, all netbooks are the same. What is amazing is all the information is covered surprisingly well.

I had this little Acer TravelMate had about 8 "display. It 'was around 2000. I have attached a larger hard drive and upgrade to 768 megabytes of RAM (to 2000). It' was great traveling companion. I also used to reject any significant database in Microsoft Access, and uses from time to time to exercise their phone to the SSH server. This was, of course, that you can find WiFi almost everywhere.

Since then, I have always carved around laptops, which were more like a desktop replacement. More recently, it was a dual-core HP, with an extended battery-life. Prolongs the duration is about 3 pounds more, but still only a gain of about 2.5 hours on battery! I have owned and used a Toshiba NB205 in two months. Served as my primary computer.

Strengths: —
- Excellent screen, keyboard, touchpad
- Good Linux support
- Sine RAM is easy to upgrade
- Lots of electrical outlets (3xUSB, Ethernet, microphone, headphone, VGA)
- Hard disk Roomy
- Lights Information on the front of the chassis (power on / off, charging, WiFi)
- Price: <$ 400
- The battery life is surprisingly good (more than six hours, in my experience)
- Accelerometer closes the hard drive if run on your laptop (Windows only)

Weaknesses: —
- No Linux support for the accelerometer
- No DVI support (OK, I'm just being picky)

That's about it. I have been through an Asus Eee 700 and 900 are pleased to have chosen Tosh, instead of an Eee 1000

This little netbook does not pack a lot and has a lot of great Features. It runs on Windows XP, it has to load very quickly. The life of the battery is about 3 hours, but it's more like two hours. Itis not great, but you can live with it and this is the case with most of the netbooks in the market.

Some impressive features it that it has TV out and HDMI. It also has the usual bells and whistles like wireless capability and has a webcam.

One drawback that I have is that it is not good with video. This can be frustrating when looking at pictures and it will be a little nervous. The keyboard does not seem right to say that although it is distributed evenly, feelingout.

The netbook feels chunky but that makes it feel like you are using a real laptop. It uses an atom processor so you can run many applications at once and the usual things like running a few web browsers, music player and word processor can be done easily.

One feature that it has which maybe useful is that the trackpad responds to certain gestures. You can use swishing movements to navigate your way through browsers. You can zoom in and out as well as rotate by learning these gestures.

Overall it looks good and i can see it being a fashion accessory for girls due to it’s pink colour. It retails at a fair price of £399.99 in the UK.

The good news is that there are not nearly as many option decisions that you need to make when you are shopping for a netbook computer system. The reason is that they are all pretty much the same, and with the same limitations. Unlike a laptop or traditional notebook or desktop computer, you do not have 25 pages of possible options that you can add on, which can sometimes almost double the base price of the system.

But remember I mentioned limitations? You need to understand and accept the fact that these netbooks from any manufacturer are pretty much the same. Almost all of them have about the same size screen, which works out to be about 9 to 10 inches. Make sure you can live with that, since it may not sound like a big difference compared to a standard laptop with a 14 or 15 inch screen, but you really do not have as much screen real estate as the laptop counterpart.

Most of them are limited to 1 GB of memory. With today’s operating systems, that is not much, especially for Windows. With most of them you can replace the memory modules and maybe get as much as 2 GB of memory (which is still not a lot) but before you search out a screwdriver, make sure that doing so does not void your warranty.

You will not have the high-end graphic capability because the graphic processing power is just not there.

But at the end of the day, what you DO get is a very capable computing platform in a very small form factor with incredible amounts of battery life. While you are not going to want to open 10 browser windows at the same time like you would on your laptop, the aspect of portability and being able to keep in touch with such a small platform brings new meaning to the term “mobile”, and netbook computers are much easier to browse on and send email from than smart phones.

Definitely make sure you do your shopping. The best deals out there can be had from several online locations and web sites. Make sure you understand the return options and the warranty options. But recognizing what a netbook computer can do and was not designed to do, and accepting those limitations, you are likely to be very happy with your new netbook computer.

The battery life is the biggest asset of netbooks, which is usually about twice that or even more than a traditional laptop computer. Most also have built-in wifi and you can also get cellular “air cards” for them for even more mobility.
