Acer AOD250-1070 10.1-Inch Red Netbook - Up to 9 Hours of Battery Life Review

I’ve been considering buying a netbook for several weeks. I’ve read all the reviews, and came to the conclusion that Acer was probably the best brand for the price. But I wasn’t sold on the Windows 7 Starter OS. Then I found this model with the 6 cell battery and the XP operating system. I bought it today with expected arrival on Wednesday. I’ll update my review after I receive the product and have a chance to put it through its paces. Hope I’ll be able to maintain the 5 Star rating like the other reviewers.

Update
I’d been trying to talk my self out of this purchase but finally decided to take the plunge when I saw the red color go on sale for 0. Product was delivered right on time. I was excited to get it set up so we could use it in the family room to check email and to browse the net when TV got boring. The trouble started when I had difficultly connecting to my home network. Not a problem, I should be able to contact Acer customer service for help, right? Wrong. They were entirely unhelpful. Thankfully I was able to contact a friend who was able to resolve the problem over the phone for me.
.
I like the product and feel that I made a wise purchasing decision. But I was sorely tempted to return the netbook for a refund after my experience with Acer customer service. Hopefully I won’t need to contact them again.
.
I’d recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a notebook. It is stylish, very light, and surprisingly quick. And the red color is nice. Since I wanted a notebook with XP rather than Win7, this fit the bill nicely. As always, Amazon has an incredible selection and provided quick shipping.

Sony VAIO VPC-W211AX/P 10-Inch Pink Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life Review

This is the newest model (W211AX) of Sony’s Netbooks and has a extended battery life. While others may complain of the battery- I like the fact that it elevates the netbook up towards you. Depending on the surfing you do- you may have a bit less battery life than advertised. I ordered the pink Vaio and couldn’t be more pleased. It was everything I expected it to be and then some. The Track pad is reasonably sized and much larger than most. The screen clarity is amazing. My only complaint is where the speakers are situated for the volume. I simply resolved this issue on my own and use my ipod head phones when listening to sound. To the lower right of screen you may also adjust zoom level. Your options are 100, 125, and 150. If you do increase the zoom level- You do loose a bit of viewing and must scroll from side to side. The keyboard buttons are a bit elevated and makes it easier for typing. The only other downfall that I could say would be that the netbook only comes with Windows 7 Starter. With this program starter version you are unable to change desktop background. Bummer… I love that I can install my SD card and download my photos too. Perfect for web surfing, downloading pics, typing, emails, etc.

Samsung N140-14B 10.1-Inch Sapphire Blue Netbook - Up to 7.5 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Amazing quality finish. Battery life exceeded my expectations, between 8 and 11 hours and no lost charge when off.
Excellent keyboard. Snappy performance. Nice matt screen.
2 downs are touchpad could have been slightly bigger, and screen res could have been 768 high instead of 600. Otherwise everything else is perfect.

Lenovo Ideapad S10-1311UW 10.2-Inch White Netbook Review

I bought the Lenovo Ideapad because my son who has one is very happy with it so I bought it as a gift for another daughter in law. Simply put, she was ecstatic when she got it. All I got was ‘brownie points’ but I’m glad she likes it.

HP has made some new netbook models, the HP Mini 1000 and Compaq Mini 700th By and large, they are almost identical, although that is 700 in a hundred pounds less than his brother at £ 299 retail.
The HP Mini 1000 is not the first mini laptop from Hewlett-Packard, produced with the HP 2133 Mini-Note aired last year. And it was a very credible effort - which is the mass of the Eee PC imitators. The Mini-Note was essentially a fantastic chassis, though left in the lurchsomething of what was inside, the CPU and battery. So what the Mini can do a better 1000?

ASUS Eee PC T91MT 8.9-Inch Black Tablet Netbook - 5 Hours of Battery Life Review

This is my first netbook and it’s really more than I imagined. The touch screen works very well in all modes and I use it mainly for reading in the tablet mode. The keyboard took a little getting used to due to its size but its very useable. The 32GB memory is working well for me and I plan to add another 16GB memory card in the SD Reader slot just for pictures, documents and movies. She runs pretty fast with Windows 7 Home Premium installed and is no slouch when playing installed videos and YouTube downloads. All in all I’m very happy with the unit.
